Stay safe from Phishing
Last week we launched a simulated phishing attack, with the subject line: “Urgent – Your email account is full”. The objective was to measure the level of awareness and reaction we have in the organisation to this type of attack.
This exercise has shown that, although many of you have applied what you learnt in the cybersecurity campaigns conducted in 2021, others did not identify the danger signs and fell for the scam, allowing your credentials, username and password to be stolen; this is very serious for the security of our company.
During this year 2022 we will continue with a new campaign to reinforce and raise awareness of everything related to cybersecurity. Those of you who have fallen into the deception of this simulation will receive a special mandatory training action that will be communicated to you individually.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate those who have applied what they have learned and remind you of the keys to phishing, the most important of which is to know what can be asked of you and in what way, to be surprised by what is not normal and to ask if you have any doubts.

Although public networks may seem like a great option to not spend the data of your devices, in this case the risks outweigh the benefits.
It’s easy for cyber attackers to intercept the information we share while we’re connected to public networks, which means they can steal our sensitive data.

Tips to protect your data:
- As a general rule, try never to connect to public Wi-Fi networks
- If you can’t avoid it, don’t enter personal or sensitive information into web pages
- Don’t download any documents while you’re connected to the Internet
- For added security, get connected using a VPN

Our devices and the information stored in them are very valuable, making them attractive targets for cyber attackers.
Remember that you are responsible for ensuring the safety of your ROVI devices, both inside and outside the office, so it is important to know how to protect them.

Follow these tips to protect your devices:
- Keep your devices at sight at all times
- Try not to expose your devices too much: do not leave them on the table
- Never ask anyone to take care of them, you are responsible for them
- Store your backpack where you can see it or between your legs (never hang it on the back of the chair!)

When we work with printed information, we must guard it securely, especially if it is confidential. It is important not to lower our guard, even when we are in a controlled environment, such as in the office or at home, to prevent information from falling into the wrong hands.

Tips for protecting confidential information:
- Keep all confidential information in a locked drawer or cabinet.
- For documents that you are not going to reuse, destroy them using a paper shredder.
- Always clean the board after your meetings.
- If you need to print something, pick up your documents immediately and don’t leave anything in the tray.

When you leave the house, why do you lock the door and guard that key very carefully? Do you do the same with your passwords?

Tips to manage your passwords securely:
- Don’t write down your passwords on a visible site.
- Use a password manager to help you remember them.
- Don’t use the same password for multiple services.
- Don’t share your passwords with anyone.
- Change your passwords at least every 3 months.

123456, password, julio123… Our passwords are the keys to our online life, but many times we protect our most sensitive data with passwords that are easy to predict. As a result, our information could be exposed to cybercriminals.
Fun fact… 1 in 5 corporate passwords includes the company name. ROVI123 is not a strong password!!

Tips for creating a strong password:
- Combines uppercase, lowercase, special characters, and numbers.
- Don’t use words that appear in the dictionary.
- Do not include the word ROVI, your ID, the months of the year, important dates, current affairs, personal data, etc.
