Make your life more cyber secure… Take care of confidential information on paper!

When we work with printed information, we must guard it securely, especially if it is confidential. It is important not to lower our guard, even when we are in a controlled environment, such as in the office or at home, to prevent information from falling into the wrong hands.

Tips for protecting confidential information:

  • Keep all confidential information in a locked drawer or cabinet.
  • For documents that you are not going to reuse, destroy them using a paper shredder.  
  • Always clean the board after your meetings.
  • If you need to print something, pick up your documents immediately and don’t leave anything in the tray.

ROVI reports operating revenue growth of 52% in the first half of 2021

ROVI released today its financial results for the first half of 2021. Below, we share some of the main indicators:

  • Operating revenue increased by 52% to 290.1 million euros in the first half of 2021, driven by the strength of the toll manufacturing business, which grew by 172%, and the specialty pharmaceutical business, where sales rose 25%.
  • Total revenue increased by 52% to 290.6 million euros in the first half of 2021.
  • Sales of the heparin franchise (Low Molecular Weight Heparins (LMWH) and other heparins) increased by 26% to 131.4 million euros in the first half of 2021.
  • Heparin sales represented 45% of operating revenue in the first half of 2021 compared to 54% in the first half of 2020.
  • Sales of LMWH (Enoxaparin biosimilar and Bemiparin) increased by 27% to 127.8 million euros in the first half of 2021. Sales of the enoxaparin biosimilar increased 27% to 62.7 million euros in the first half of 2021 and sales of Bemiparin increased 26% to 65.1 million euros.
  • EBITDA increased by 75%, from 42.4 million euros in the first half of 2020 to 74.0 million euros in the first half of 2021, reflecting a 3.3 percentage point rise in the EBITDA margin to 25.5% in the first half of 2021.
  • Net profit increased by 72%, from 29.6 million euros in the first half of 2020 to 51.0 million euros in the first half of 2021.
  • As a result of the expansion of the collaboration agreement with Moderna and the current visibility of ROVI’s business areas, the company has again upgraded its forecast for growth in operating revenue in 2021, raising it to between 35% and 40%

Juan Lopez-Belmonte Encina, new Chairman of the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of ROVI, at its meeting held today, has unanimously and acting
on a report from the Appointments and Remunerations Committee, agreed to appoint
the current Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Juan López-Belmonte Encina, as new Chairman
of the Board of Directors of ROVI.
The Board of Directors has expressed the profound gratitude and respect of the
Company and all of its employees towards the former Chairman, Mr. Juan López-Belmonte López.
The Appointments and Remunerations Committee has considered that according to
the career of Mr. Juan López-Belmonte Encina it is clear that he has unquestionable
knowledge to perform the functions as Chairman of the Board, as well as a deep and
extensive expertise in the Company, the Rovi Group and the sector in which it develops
its activity, making him the suitable candidate to occupy such position.
Mr. Juan López-Belmonte Encina will continue to act also as a Chief Executive Officer
(Consejero Delegado).

When you leave the house, why do you lock the door and guard that key very carefully? Do you do the same with your passwords?

As we all know, our passwords are the keys to our online life. It is very important to manage them safely so that they do not end up in the hands of cyber attackers. Click on the image to see the latest video in the password series!

Tips to manage your passwords securely:

  • Don’t write down your passwords on a visible site.
  • Use a password manager to help you remember them.
  • Don’t use the same password for multiple services.
  • Don’t share your passwords with anyone.
  • Change your passwords at least every 3 months.

Importance of keeping compliance with COVID-19 prevention measures

Unfortunately, the incidence rate of COVID-19 infections has increased alarmingly in Spain. For that reason, we remind you all of the importance of complying with prevention measures against COVID-19 infections.

1.- Which are the measures that I must continue to comply?

In ROVI:

·        Maintain the minimum interpersonal distance of 2 meters with your colleagues whenever possible.

·        Use mask at all times.

·        Hands hygiene.

·        Systematic and frequent ventilation of your workplace.

·        Prohibition of face-to-face meetings except in case of impossibility of executing the tasks in another way. In case they are essential to respect capacity and use of masks

·        Respect the rules on mobility between workplaces and canteens that we have established.

·        Keep isolation and quarantine when prescribed, either because you are diagnosed with Coronavirus infection (with or without symptoms), or because you have had close contact with someone with COVID-19.

In my personal life:

In addition, of all the above it is advisable to limit the number of people we meet in our social life, and choose whenever possible outdoor activities or in well-ventilated spaces.

Regarding the mask: as you know it is no longer mandatory to use the mask in open spaces, but as long as you can maintain a safe distance.

Ask yourself when this is really possible in the cities we live in. Most of the sidewalks we travel on have a distance of less than 2 meters, so it is not possible to maintain a safe distance. Be responsible and continue to wear the mask in case of any doubt of being able to keep your distance. Protect yourself and help protect others!

2.- Why is it important that you continue to comply with these measures?

Current evidence indicates that different vaccines against COVID-19 are effective in reducing symptomatic and asymptomatic infection, mild, moderate and severe disease, and mortality. However, it is known that the immunity generated by vaccines does not prevent you from getting infected again. This implies that even if vaccinated:

· You can get infected

· You can spread it to others

· The DELTA variant is more contagious and serious than the previous ones. Any oversight can make your family, friends and colleagues very sick.

For all these reasons, we ask you not to lower your guard and continue to comply as before with the prevention measures against covid-19 infections, both in Rovi and your private life.

Make your life more Cybersecure… Let’s talk about your passwords!

123456, password, julio123… Our passwords are the keys to our online life, but many times we protect our most sensitive data with passwords that are easy to predict. As a result, our information could be exposed to cybercriminals.

Fun fact… 1 in 5 corporate passwords includes the company name. ROVI123 is not a strong password!!

This month we are going to publish 2 videos that explain how to create a strong password and the risks of not managing them securely.

Tips for creating a strong password:

  • Combines uppercase, lowercase, special characters, and numbers.
  • Don’t use words that appear in the dictionary.
  • Do not include the word ROVI, your ID, the months of the year, important dates, current affairs, personal data, etc.

The mandatory use of mask in ROVI is maintained

As you may have heard in the press, the Government of Spain plans to lift the mandatory use of masks in outdoor spaces, provided that certain requirements are met.

However, for the moment in ROVI we will not apply this measure, so it will continue to be mandatory to use the mask in all ROVI facilities, regardless of whether they are indoors or outdoors.

The use of the mask is one of the most effective prevention measures against the transmission of COVID-19; hence we maintain the mandatory use of it.

Each of us must contribute to our personal protection and that of our colleagues.

Thank you all very much for the commitment you have shown to date in complying with all the measures, a commitment that we are sure will be maintained in the future.

We extend the measures until 15 September

Given the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, we announce that the infection prevention measures established in ROVI will be extended until September 15.

In addition, we are pleased to inform you that Rovi’s forecast is to recover a greater degree of normality in its operation as of September 15. If the epidemiological situation remains in the same positive trend that has been showing in recent weeks and the national vaccination plan is fulfilled according to the established schedules, we understand that, after the return from vacation, we will be able to relax many of the measures that we currently have in force to prevent covid-19 infections, increasing our physical presence in the Rovi facilities and recovering our ordinary work dynamics.

The details of these new measures will be communicated in the first days of September.

Finally, we remember that in the ROVIRocks COVID Channel you can consult all the mandatory rules, currently in force, differentiated by type of employee.
