Last weekend, a group of ROVI volunteers took part in the 33rd Adapted Sella River Descent, an initiative organized by the Sports Federation for People with Physical Disabilities of the Principality of Asturias (FEDEMA) that promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities through sport.
In collaboration with Fundación También, eight ROVI volunteers accompanied athletes with disabilities on a 15-kilometre route between Arriondas and Llovio, sharing a day marked by camaraderie, determination, and teamwork.
This year’s event brought together 260 canoeists, including 83 athletes with disabilities, each accompanied by a volunteer in their boat, making an inclusive sporting experience possible in a unique setting.
For ROVI, taking part in initiatives like this is an opportunity to continue contributing to the development of a more inclusive society while reinforcing values such as collaboration, commitment, and respect. We are proud to be part, once again, of an activity that demonstrates how sport can become a powerful tool for integration and bringing people together.
